Panmai

Panmai is a natural dye and textile weaving group of about 500 women from 24 villages in 6 districts of 3 provinces in Thailand’s Northeast Region (Isaan). The group promotes among its members the use of natural dyes and traditional weaving technique to produce high quality and individual silk and cotton handicraft. It also creates village product in and marketin organization.
The Panmai Group was developed by the Appropriate Technology Association (A.T.A) of Thailand after creating a network of village dyers and weavers and planning ways to work together towards self-reliance in the future.

Silk  Scarves
All of Panmai’s silk products are 100 % hand-woven, naturally-dyed Thai silk. Sericulture, spinning, dyeing and weaving are all done at the village to level.
According  to Mae Boonmee of Dan Village, “ …. Sericulture and Isaan women are like mates – - they cannot be separated. ”

Accessories.. 
Panmai’s cotton accessories are made from hand-woven, naturally dye cotton and reflect the application of traditional patterns to functional design.
Silk accessories are available in a wide range of colors to accent any environment. After the cloth is woven, it is distributed to a team of village sewer’s who perform the finished goods work.
